Tonight, despite coming from many different nations, the whole 2F4P team has expressed much sadness to hear the news of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.

A true animal-lover, Queen Elizabeth II was a proud advocate for animal welfare.

Thoughts are with the Royal Family at this difficult time.
Growling should NEVER be punished βœ…and also NEVER be ignored βœ…
Not all growls are negative.

... A dog that growls has just provided us with a very valuable communication signal.

...Growling is a dog's way of saying
"please stop,"
"stay away from me,"
"go away,"
“I’m not comfortable with this and I’m feeling threatened”.

... A dog that growls is trying hard to communicate and punishment suppresses this ability to communicate.

... Punishment doesn’t change the level of the dog's discomfort; it creates more stress and the dog will feel more threatened.

πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰ Growling is not the problem. Growling is the result of and the symptom of a problem.

... Be grateful for the gift of a growl - it provides us with an opportunity to address the cause & prevent the bite.

A SERIOUS post today:
We stand with The British Veterinary Association - BVA campaign with regard to #earcropping.

We share their concern at depicting dogs with cropped ears in the new 'DC League of Superpets' film sends a concerning message to impressionable young children.

We agree that there is no longer any reason to normalise this practice.

‘Cosmetic’ ear cropping is an intensely painful procedure that carries no welfare benefits for dogs and is usually carried out at a young age.
Cropping can also inhibit a dog’s ability to use their ears to communicate, which could impact on their relationships with other dogs and people, including issues of safety.

It is disappointing that some celebrities, influencers or even advertising campaigns still use or show off cropped dogs without acknowledging the mutilation.
It is vital that the dog loving public are aware that this is not what these dogs should look like, and that they understand how abhorrent this practice is, so that they do not fuel this cruelty.

ACTION: We encourage sharing the hashtag #flopnotcrop on any marketing or advertising feature on social media that depicts cropped ears (or tail) as a norm.

We, along with all other quality vet clinics in Dubai, will (& have) refused to crop ears or dock tails for any reason other than clinical welfare.
We are grateful that we have only been asked a handful of times.

🚨We CANNOT state this strongly enough! 🚨

(Owner permission has been given to share this heartbreaking post)

If you have had a cat fight for its life after chewing/licking just one flower from an innocently gifted bouquet ... you'd feel move to shout it from the rooftops too.

πŸ‘‰ Don't just watch the mercury.

High Humidity Levels can be every bit as dangerous to animals as high temperatures.

Seriously compromising an animal's ability to cool itself, on very humid days, please keep your pets inside & exercise/activity to a minimum.

πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰Things can go wrong quicker than you think - help us keep them safe!πŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ˆπŸ‘ˆ
